Enid has been a loyal caregiver with our company since 2016. She works as a live-in caregiver and has received numerous compliments over the years from our clients and family members. Earlier this year, Enid accepted a new assignment to care for 90 year old gentleman diagnosed with dementia and his 90 year old wife who had suffered a stroke.
The COVID-19 pandemic had just started and Enid committed herself to staying with this couple for as long as they needed her – providing the care and support of not only a caregiver, but also in some ways acting as a family member since the couple’s children could no longer visit. Early one morning, Enid escorted the couple outside after breakfast so they could get fresh air and see the flowers in the garden. The wife unexpectedly lost conciseness and passed away. Enid stayed with the couple until paramedics and family could arrive. She comforted the woman’s husband and kept him calm during the event. The family took over care for a few days while funeral plans would be arranged and Enid returned to resume her caregiver services for the father.
Enid’s commitment to her clients and ability to build lasting relationships is unmatched. Not only is she a skilled caregiver, but she has the compassion and dedication that you cannot teach. In addition to all these great qualities, Enid has also recruited several other caregivers to join our organization! We are grateful to have her on our team and she’s a wonderful example of what it means to be a caregiver.
