This is an entry to recognize a top caregiver in the industry, submitted by Tanja at Amada Senior Care in Arizona. Please join us is recognizing a care job well done.
Sheena is naturally optimistic. During training, she made friends with everyone. If you give her a challenge, her enthusiasm increases. She’s also humble and doesn’t see the enormous impact she has on her clients and the office staff that work with her. Naturally, Sheena’s clients adore her and so do we. If we could clone her, we’d never have a unsatisfied client again!
Just when we think she couldn’t get any more amazing, she did. We have a particularly difficult client who has fired several of her caregivers. One night a caregiver left unexpectedly because of a family emergency. We know from experience that it is very unlikely to find a caregiver at midnight but this client couldn’t go without care. The person on-call reached out to Sheena and, much to her surprise, Sheena picked up the phone and accepted the shift! Sheena seamlessly took over care from 2am-7am and then made it on-time, and cheerfully, to her regular shift at noon.
But the best part is, between shifts she called and checked on the on-call person to make sure she was okay. Sheena knows that all of the office staff takes turns with on-call and she was concerned for the staff member who was dealing with client issues late into the night. Everybody needs that kind of kindness.
