Tammy was in a severe auto accident this summer and was unable to walk. We were shocked with how quickly she recovered and returned to caregiving. She said she was motivated to recover because she knew that FirstLight and her clients relied on her. Shortly after her return, Tammy was promoted to be our Caregiver Mentor.
While the program has only been in existence for 2 months, we are already sensing higher caregiver satisfaction. Tammy is able to coach our care staff to provide services to the “Tammy-standard” that our clients expect. While her regular clients were disappointed to lose Tammy as their regular caregiver, they are please to know that Tammy will be holding the hands of the new care staff that were hired to replace her. They are in good hands.
With her promotion, Tammy has the ability to touch the lives of more clients. Our clients are so happy to have what they call, “a professional,” in the home to help train on more difficult tasks, such as bed baths and transfers. Tammy is FirstLight and is a crucial bridge between our office and our care staff and clients.
