This is an entry to recognize a top caregiver in the industry, submitted by Sarah at How’s Work Inc. in Massachusetts. Please join us is recognizing a care job well done.
Zehra has the most amazing work ethic. Zehra went to her client’s home to help her bathe and noticed that the client’s toe was darkened. She called the office to let us know right away and we called the family, but they were out of town. The client refused to go to the hospital at that time so Zehra went back each night to check on her client after she finished work.
Several nights later Zehra called the office to say that the client had a fever and the darkened area on her toe looked worse. She called 911 and the client was admitted to the hospital. The doctor told us that if Zehra hadn’t called 911 when she did that she most likely would have lost her toe, leg or even her life.
Sadly, Zehra recently lost her teenage son in a car accident and yet she still cared for her clients in this most caring manner, regardless of the loss she is feeling. She really exemplifies the kind of CNA and person that we all want caring for our loved ones.
