“Our mission is to help people stay in the place they love. Griswold Home Care was started by Jean Griswold 40 years ago because she saw a need in her community. She was a pioneer in home care. We hold those same values today of helping people of our local community by helping them be able to stay in their homes. At Griswold Home Care our Caregivers get treated with respect and dignity. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them and they are never under appreciated.“
What qualities do you look for in hiring a great employee?
“Employees that have compassion for other people. We look for employees who are dependable and a strong work ethic.”
Describe any training or career path opportunities you may offer, including if you’d like to recruit people without past experience that want to learn to care for others.
“We look for caregiver that have a big heart and are compassionate. Even if you’ve never been a caregiver before as long as you have a big heart and compassion we train you on everything else you will need to know. We partner with a company called Care Academy to provide ongoing training for our caregivers. We also tend to promote from within. There are opportunities to get promoted to a Care Coordinator position or other office support positions.“
