Visiting Angels is a home care agency located in Chelmsford, MA. We recently sat down with their top recruiter, Kathi to learn about their caregiver jobs and get the skinny on what they offer. Below is a summary of our interview.
How many caregivers do you currently employ and what roles are you hiring for right now (i.e. caregiver jobs, CNA jobs, home health aide jobs)?
Visiting Angels of Chelmsford/Burlington employs over 50 caregivers, and we are growing! We are currently hiring certified nursing assistants (CNAs), home health aides (HHAs), personal care assistants (PCAs), and those with caring hearts and caregiving experience.
How many positions do you have open and what shifts are available?
Visiting Angels of Chelmsford/Burlington is always looking for talented, loving caregivers as our business expands. If you are available to work, we have clients for you. You can choose to work full-time, part-time, mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights. We also have roles for caregivers looking to advance their careers and work in an office environment.
Tell us about some of the benefits offered to your team members.
Visiting Angels provides top benefits, and we treat our employees with respect. We are honored that our employees have voted us one of The Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work and Home Care Pulse’s Best of Home Care Employer of Choice.
We offer competitive pay (up to $20/hour based on certifications), paid online training through Visiting Angels University, health and life insurance and additional health benefits, referral and performance bonuses, flexible use of earned sick time, and employee appreciation events.
What is unique about working for your company? Describe a benefit or something about your culture that someone may not know from reading your job ads.
We truly care about our caregivers’ well-being and understand the benefit of strong caregiver-client relationships. We offer set schedules, so you can focus on one or two clients, not a different client every day. You tell us where and when you can work, and we match you to the right client for you.
We genuinely love our caregivers. Our owners are hands-on and love to show their appreciation to our caregivers for all they do for our clients and for contributing to the quality reputation we have in our community.
What qualities do you look for in hiring a great employee?
The first quality we look for is a caring heart. We provide training to improve on caregiving skills, but being a loving, caring person has to come naturally. Our caregivers truly want to make a difference in the life of a senior. We also look for dependability, reliability, and good communication.
Describe any training or career path opportunities you may offer, including if you’d like to recruit people without past experience that want to learn to care for others.
As one of our caregivers, you can enroll in online caregiving courses through Visiting Angels University. There is a wide selection of courses including dementia care, personal care, mobility, and infectious disease prevention. We also have opportunities for eligible caregivers to earn their CNA certification and participate in other in person trainings.
